Imagine a steel cage match between Sevendust, Coldplay and Foo Fighters with Joe Satriani as the referee and you will begin to develop an image that defines the core sound of Barry French, or "Big Blue" as his friends call him. Barry began his musical journey as a drummer, playing every Sunday at his local church. Soon after that, he began learning the guitar and he never looked back.
After many years of playing live shows Barry decided to focus solely on writing music for Film and TV. During the transition period he happened to land his first cut as a songwriter, getting four co-writes with the artist Eowyn for her third album, produced by Grammy-nominated producer Travis Wyrick. The first single, "Silent Screams," eventually rose to #17 on the National R&R Christian Rock Charts.
In early 2009, Barry signed his first publishing deal with a music library and soon after that, placements began to follow on shows such as The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Dr. Oz Show, The Nate Berkus Show, Parental Control (MTV), Fantasy Factory (MTV), Toddlers and Tiaras (TLC), Sniper (History), Duck Dynasty (A&E) and more.
As of now, Barry has landed the main title theme for three shows (Don't Trust Andrew Mayne (A&E)*, It's A Brad, Brad World (BRAVO), and In The Bedroom with Dr. Laura Berman (OWN) - *partial theme) and his music has been used in over 200 different productions with over 2,000 placements.
