Fat 'N Furious: Rolling Thunder

Fat 'N Furious: Rolling Thunder, Access Hollywood, Counting Cars, Hillbilly Blood, and I Almost Got Away With It

Hard to believe that 2014 is over! On a personal note, I'm SOOOO glad to see it go as it's been a rough one. Looking forward to 2015! But before that happens, here's a final post for some new placements. I had a placement in a new show for me, Fat 'N Fuious: Rolling Thunder, which used a couple of my cues, one of them a southern rock track and the other a alt blues track, kinda like The White Stripes.

I also had some placements in six more episodes of Access Hollywood, three episodes of Counting Cars which used a co-write with my friend Lydia Ashton, two more episodes of Hillbilly Blood: A Hardscrabble Life, and two more episdoes of I Almost Got Away With It.

Protecting The President

Protecting the President, Oprah: Where Are They Now, Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta, and I Found The Gown

In this crazy music business there are times when years go by between a piece being used and the cue sheet actually showing up. That just happened to me with an episode of show called Secret Service File: Protecting the President which apparently aired back in October of 2012 but the cue sheet just showed up this week! Crazy! They used a hard rock cue of mine a couple of times in the episode.

It looks like I also had some more placements in a couple of episodes of Oprah: Where Are They Now? as well as another episode each of I Found The Gown and Say Yes To The Dress: Atlanta

Impractical Jokers

TAXI Road Rally

TAXI Road Rally 2014

It's that time of year again, time for the TAXI Road Rally convention in Los Angeles. If you've never been to one, there's not really any other conference like it. Sure, there are others that are similar in content but none of them can replicate the community and "family" vibe and atmosphere that the Road Rally has. I'm happy to say that I'm going to be a panelist there for the third year in a row. Two years ago it was for the 5 Year Plan panel, last year I did a presentation on how to make virtual drums sound realistic, and this year I'm going to be on the TAXI All Stars panel along with some of my good friends as we hope to share some of the tips and techniques we've used over the years to help us get to where we're at in the business. Looking forward to the panel and to the Rally in general. Should be a great time!

In addition to those placements I also had four more cue sheets for It's A Brad, Brad World which had two pop-rock cues used in addition to the main title theme.
NFL on FOX

NFL on FOX, Flipping Out, Onion News Network, and Built

While it's still exciting to find out about new shows that have used my music, there are some placements that get me a bit more excited than others. Last night I found out that I had two placements during the Washington @ St. Louis NFL game on FOX back in September. They used a couple of my southern blues rock cues. Now I can cross off "NFL game" from my Music Placement Bucket List! In addition to those two placements I also had cue sheets for three other new shows to me. There were two episodes of Flipping Out which used a pop-rock cue and a punk cue; One episode of Built which used a dramedy cue ("Peeking Through The Curtains"); And one episode of the website-turned-tv-show Onion News Network which used my tension cue "Tension In The Air."
Parental Discretion

Parental Discretion, Toddlers and Tiaras, Cheer Perfection, and Nate Berkus

Discovered I had music in a new show earlier this morning, Parental Discretion with Stefanie Wilder-Taylor, which also marks my first placement on the Nick Jr. network. I also had some placements show up in another episode of The Nate Berkus Show, Cheer Perfection (which had 2 cues get used), and a special edition of Toddlers and Tiaras: Most Memorable Moments. I think that's a good way to break up the middle of the week!
Say Yes To The Dress: The Big Day

Say Yes To The Dress: The Big Day, Barter Kings, Access Hollywood, Dr. Oz, and Nate Berkus

Woke up this morning to find 35 new cue sheets waiting for me, what a great way to start off the weekend! I had a pop-punk track get used in an episode of Say Yes To The Dress: The Big Day, first time in that particular series. Then I had another three episodes of Access Hollywood, six episodes of Barter Kings, ten episodes of The Dr. Oz Show, and finally, fifteen episodes of The Nate Berkus Show.
Ultimate Aggression

NEW Music

I found out today that two of the most recent projects I worked on are now available online. The first project, Skate Punks, is an album that I did half of the tracks and my buddy Brandon did the other half. It's a pop-punk project that's upbeat, bright, and happy. The other project, Ultimate Aggression, is the album I did earlier in the year written in the vein of The Ultimate Fighter show. It's heavy, angry, and aggressive, so nothing like the other project! And it was the first project that I got to use my baritone guitar on which was fun. The library has included this album on their New Releases page of their web site, as well as a couple of tracks from the album which you can hear at http://www.atomicamusiclibrary.com/blog/?p=430. If you want to hear the entire album or any of the tracks from the pop-punk project, click on the Music link at the top of their site and it will launch their music player, then in the Albums tab click on Atomica Music and those two albums are 2nd and 3rd in the list.
Wives with Knives

Wives With Knives, Dr. Oz, Access Hollywood, In The Bedroom with Dr. Laura Berman, It's A Brad, Brad World, and BMI

Happy to report some more cue sheets showed up the past few days! I had my first ever placements in three episodes of a show on the ID network called Wives With Knives, you can take a guess as to what the show is about. Then I also had another three episodes of Access Hollywood, three episodes of Dr. Oz, and one more for In The Bedroom with Dr. Laura Berman. Also, I finally had a chance to catch an episode of It's A Brad, Brad World Season 2 and was very happy to hear that they kept the theme song I did for Season 1. It looks like tonight is the fifth episode of the season. Not sure how many they're going to do, last season they did eight, so hopefully they do at least that many this season as well! And last but not least, as of today, I am now officially a BMI writer. For anyone who has ever switched PRO's, you know how difficult the process can be but I gotta say it was a rather smooth transition. Very excited about the future and looking forward to a long relationship with BMI.

Oprah's Next Chapter

Another day, another batch of cue sheets showed up! All of the placements for today happened as a result of a library deal I got after a bit of networking at my first TAXI Road Rally back in 2008. First up was another episode of Oprah's Next Chapter which used a hard rock cue originally written for a different show altogether. Then I had another six placements in an episode of In The Bedroom with Dr. Laura Berman (one of which was the main title theme). And then I had four new episodes of Super Soul Sunday which used a variety of pop/rock cues. And like with yesterday, this batch of cue sheets also represents another milestone for me as I have now passed the 1,300 placements mark!!! Great way to start the weekend!!!

It's always fun to end the week and start the weekend off with some new placements! Looks like I had a total of eight new placements across four different shows that have used my music before. There was a new episode of American Pickers that used my alt rock track "Swagger and Attitude." Then there was another episode of Best of the Oprah Show that used three placements in it. One of my dramedy cues "Peeking Through The Curtains" was used in two episodes of Big Rich Texas. Finally, looks like I had another placement in the show Homicide Hunter that I first learned about yesterday. Not a bad way to kick off the weekend!
America's Most Secret: Structures

America's Most Secret: Structures, Homicide Hunter

Today I found out about a couple of new shows that used some of my music. The first show, America's Most Secret: Structures, which aired on Discovery Channel, used a dramatic-tension style cue a couple of times in the episode. The other show, Homicide Hunter: Lt. Joe Kenda, which aired on the Investigation Discovery network, used my cue "Tension In The Air" for over a minute. This is the eighth different production that has used that cue so far.

New cue sheets showed up today for a few shows. The first one, Buying Alaska, is a new one for me. According to the cue sheets, looks like I had eighteen placements in three episodes. I'll take it! And then other placements were for a couple episodes of El Rostro de la Venganza which used my cue "Tension In The Air" a couple of times and one episode of the show Made, which used a pop-rock track in the vein of U2 and Coldplay that I co-wrote with my dear friend Lydia Ashton. We originally wrote the track to pitch for a car commercial. While it didn't end up getting that gig it is nice to see it get used somewhere else!

Woke up this morning to found two new cue sheets waiting for me. The first one is a new show for me, Beverly Hills Nannies, which used a pop-rock track in the vein of U2 and Coldplay that I co-wrote with my dear friend Lydia Ashton. I also learned today that the three cues I wrote over this past weekend have been signed with a library that I joined last Decemeber (thanks TAXI!) and two of the three cues are going to be appearing on season 2 of Married To Jonas.
3

3, Bar Rescue, America Now, TV Guide Magazine's Top 25 Best Oprah Show Moments

I had three new series show up for me this week in my online cue sheet account. The first one was for a show that just happens to be called 3 that aired on CBS which looks like it only lasted two episodes before being pulled off the air. The next one was for a show called Bar Rescue that aired on Spike which seems to be about someone going around and fixing up bars that are apparently in need of rescue :-) And the other new show was TV Guide Magazine's Top 25 Best Oprah Show Moments that aired on OWN. I have no clue what that one could be about :-) And I also had another placement in an episode of America Now.

Hillbilly Blood

Hillbilly Blood, Dr. Oz

Today I had another new show pop up in my online cue sheet account with my PRO. It was for an episode of Hillbilly Blood: A Hardscrabble Life that airs on Destination America. Never heard of the show or the channel before but I'll take it! And it also looks like I had 17 new episodes of the Dr. Oz show! Woot! Woot!
